Parents noted that their children enjoyed the film, suggesting it has a broad appeal for family viewing. However, there are mixed opinions regarding certain aspects of the movie. Some viewers appreciated the film's new take on the classic story, finding it refreshing, but others criticized the inclusion of unconventional plot elements, like asteroid-related events, which diverged from traditional narratives. Additionally, opinions were divided on the casting of Kellan Lutz for the titular role, with some feeling he lacked the star power and talent necessary for the character.
