Keepro Flex Hones Editorial Review
The KEEPRO Engine Cylinder Hone Tool is turning heads in the world of DIY automotive repairs, offering a reliable solution for those looking to breathe new life into old engines. It stands out for its functionality and versatility, handling cylinder diameters ranging from 2" to 7" with ease. Customers have praised the tool's effective performance in achieving a solid cross-hatch pattern, which is essential for proper engine operation. One user noted that despite a minor flaw with one of the stones being uneven, the overall effect remains impressive after honing their cylinder block. The hone’s strength lies in its user-friendly design. Its self-centering mechanism allows for quick and straight alignment within cylinders, making it accessible even for novice mechanics. The adjustable pressure control via a knurled wheel adds to its appeal, allowing users to tackle various degrees of rust or glaze without difficulty. Plus, the quick-change stones enable seamless transitions during the honing process, which a lot of customers find convenient. While the KEEPRO Hone tool delivers solid performance, there are a few drawbacks worth mentioning. The durability of the coarse stones is a concern; heavy rust can wear them down quickly, suggesting users should Consider purchasing extra stones for prolonged use. Additionally, the flexibility of the shaft can limit torque production when it’s extended to its maximum, particularly in deeper bores, but this can generally be managed with controlled strokes and proper lubrication. Overall, the KEEPRO Engine Cylinder Hone is a hard-working and budget-friendly tool that delivers impressive results for both amateur and experienced mechanics alike. It serves as a practical option for anyone looking to revitalize engines without breaking the bank. **
