Action & Adventure Editorial Review
**** "Panda Plan" marks another entry in Jackie Chan's extensive filmography, but it appears to leave mixed impressions among viewers. Like many fans of the action-comedy genre, those who appreciate Chan’s unique blend of stunts and humor were excited about this release. While some viewers found moments of enjoyment, particularly in the nostalgia of seeing Chan in action, the overall reception leaned toward disappointment. The CGI and production choices have drawn significant criticism, as many felt that they didn’t mesh well with the live-action elements. Viewers noted that the movie resembled a low-effort children's film rather than a polished Jackie Chan feature, which is characterized by well-choreographed action and engaging storytelling. The memorable stunts Chan is known for are present, but critics highlighted that many moments seem strained and lack the tension typically associated with his films. The opening fight scene is a standout, showcasing Chan’s trademark style, though it is overshadowed by the production’s shortcomings, including poor CGI animals that detract from the immersion. Furthermore, the film's attempt at creating family-friendly comedy often came across as silly, which, while aiming to cater to younger audiences, ultimately resulted in a forgettable experience for adult viewers. The concerns extend to the film’s English dub, perceived as poorly executed, which detracted from the overall viewing experience. Despite its flaws, "Panda Plan" isn’t devoid of charm. Fans of Jackie Chan may still find some enjoyment, especially in light-hearted moments or nostalgic nods to his classic roles. However, for those seeking the excitement and coherence of his past hits, this film may disappoint. **
