The third volume also deals with the parts of Asia that need to be defined, outside the Taurus Mountains and extending from India to the Nile. This vast region includes Assyria, where Babylon and Nisibis are located; Adiyabene, Mesopotamia, all of Syria; Phenicia, Palestine; It includes all of Arabia and the part of India that touches Arabia. Strabo also describes the lands of the Saracens and the regions bordering the Dead Sea and the Red Sea. Finally, Egypt and Africa are all covered by this volume.
